Today in Kyiv, the President of the Professional Volleyball League of Ukraine, Volodymyr Dubinsky, met with the coaches of the women's teams of the Super League-Dmart for the 2022/23 season. In particular, the general manager and mentor of SC "Prometey" Maria Aleksandrova and Andrii Romanovych were present at the meeting, respectively.
At the event, initiated by Volodymyr Mykhailovych himself, important issues related to the rules and timing of the competition were discussed.
- It was important that the coaches, who will prepare the teams for the championship, express their suggestions and wishes regarding the holding of this event, - said Volodymyr Mykhailovych. - At the meeting, it was decided that the tournament will be held in three rounds, and the participating teams will be divided into two groups. All organizational points, security issues, and terms of applications were also discussed.
In addition, the format of the new League Cup was approved at the meeting. It will be held instead of the previously scheduled All-Star Match.
- Previously, we thought of organizing a match of stars, but today we agreed that it will be the League Cup according to the relegation system. It is planned for the period from December 18 to December 23. In general, I am satisfied that clubs and coaches have expressed great interest in this meeting. Everyone came, worked fruitfully, adjusted, and made the necessary decisions, - added the President of PVLU.
Maria Aleksandrova said that such meetings of the coaching staffs of the men's and women's leagues with the president of PVLU Volodymyr Dubinsky are necessary to establish connections and contacts:
- The structure of PVLU is completely unknown to coaches: they are starting this journey with a new organization and a completely different approach. It is also important for Volodymyr Mykhailovych to get in touch with all the coaching staff to hear their wishes and visions, and today it bore fruit. They will be taken into account, which will only bring a plus and development to further work.
Andrii Romanovych also shared his impressions of the meeting:
- I had very pleasant impressions from communicating with Volodymyr Mykhailovych. We understand that this is only the beginning. Considering the complexity of the situation, this whole process is already a big holiday. Such an operation to save Ukrainian volleyball. We all understand that in such a situation, losing the championship would mean making a step back for several years. Then it will be difficult to get everything back on track, and perhaps in the next 5-10 years, this would be completely unrealistic. This is a very big deal. I loved how all the coaches had an enthusiastic look. Everyone is ready to go to meet each other, to meet the Professional League to build Ukrainian volleyball. And no matter how difficult it is, we will make a product based on the European analoge which is called the Professional League of Ukraine. This is only the first draw, so of course, there will be some difficulties. However, in the process, they will overcome, and from season to season, the league will be better and better.
We remind you that eight teams will participate in the upcoming draw of the tournament: SC "Prometey", "Alanta", "Dobrodiy-Meduniversitet-ShVSM", "Volynsky Kray", "Halychanka-ZUNU", SC "Balta", "National team of Ukraine U- 17", "Prometey Academy"National Team of Ukraine U-15.
