In the match of the Extraliga against "Prosteyov", the volleyball players of "Prometey" gave the fans a lot of positive emotions with their desire and perseverance. However, unfortunately, they were unable to win their first victory in 2023 today.
The players of "Prostejov" on the rights of the owners of the court led in the score — 4:2. However, our athletes did not want to let their opponents go far. And soon after the effective actions of Myrta Grbac and Oleksandra Milenko, the "red and whites" took the lead - 7:8.
"Swings" continued — 12:11, 12:13. In such a game, any move by one of the opponents could become decisive in the set. That is why, when the Ukrainians were already in the lead with a difference of two goals (12:14), the coach of the Czech club took a time-out. Immediately after the break, Yevhenia Khober served an ace, which ruined the plans for the comeback attempt. The end was marked by interesting and protracted rallies and "Prometey" brought the set to victory - 19:25.
The second segment began with a 7:1 lead of the Czechs. In those minutes, our players made a lot of mistakes in the final stage of the attacks. A similar problem pursued them to the equator of the set. Then Milenko made it clear with two very good points that the sight was already in full order. However, difficulties with breakpoints did not disappear anywhere - 18:12. That is why it was extremely difficult for Ivan Petkov's team to turn the course of the set in their favor - 25:15.
At the beginning of the next set, the home team again had minimal initiative — 7:4. Svitlana Dorsman had her word just in time: the middle blocker earned a point with an attack and served sharply, which eventually led to a narrowing of the gap between the teams — 7:6.
In the end, the "red and whites" equalized the numbers on the scoreboard, and thanks to the efforts of Viktoriia Danchak, they generally left the opponents behind - 9:10. In the debut set for "Prostejov" it was psychologically difficult to be in the role of someone who catches up. And it seemed that the third one, the scenario would repeat itself because, at a certain moment, the advantage of the Ukrainians reached six points - 9:15. However, the Czechs miraculously returned to the game - 20:19. Here, our team's perseverance, character, and faith in their own strength have finally worked - 23:25.
The whole struggle was transferred to the fourth set. Teams took turns exchanging points, and it was almost impossible to determine the winner ahead of time - 11:11, 15:15. At a certain moment, the champions of the Czech Republic managed to break away by three points - 21:18. "Prometey" did not give up and continued to compete. But still, fortune was on the opposite side - 25:23. She stayed there and for the tie-break as well - 15:8.
