Ivan Petkov's wards start the 2023/24 season with a trophy! In the match for the Super Cup of Ukraine, they defeated the players of "Alanta" and eventually defended their title. We would like to remind you that the last draw of the competition was held back in 2021.
Gariy Yegiazarov's wards unexpectedly seized the initiative at the start of the meeting (2:5). However, their two mistakes in a row allowed the "red and whites" to reduce the gap to a minimum. And then Svitlana Dorsman and Yevhenia Khober had their say, and finally turned the course of the match (6:5).
The current champions of the country continued to score points (10:5) rapidly. Therefore, the coach of "Alanta" took a time-out, during which he encouraged his volleyball players to take more risks in the attack.
The break did not fundamentally change the situation on the court. Soon, Daria Sharhorodska's ace led to a double lead of "Prometey" at the equator of the set (14:7). By the end of this segment, the intrigue has finally disappeared. Therefore, Ivan Petkov decided to use rotation. In the end - 25:11.
Once again, it was the representatives of "Alanta" who started the set better (1:3), and once again the "red and whites" got out of this situation quite quickly and confidently (9:4). At a certain point, we witnessed a long and interesting rally, which ended in favor of Yegiazarov's team. It would seem that this moment should have added confidence to the girls. However, they received another defeat - 25:12.
The third set was the final in this match. After all, the events in it developed according to the same scenario as in the previous two. "Prometey" had a total advantage, and the club's players scored points in any way possible - 25:12.
The best scorer of the match was Serbian outside hitter Bojana Milenkovic. She has 14 points. She ended up receiving the MVP award!
