The busy game calendar of Ivan Petkov's team gives their fans the opportunity to enjoy the game of their favorite team fully. And also with excellent results. Today, "Prometey" won another victory in the Extraliga over "Šelmy Brno".
Our volleyball players led mainly during the first set - 2:5, 14:18. However, the hostesses found the strength not only to fight back but also to break out into the lead - 22:21. The ending turned out to be quite tense: the teams had to determine the winner on more-or-less game. At a crucial moment, Yevheniia Hober, winning back from the hands of her opponents, earned a set ball. Anastasiia Majevska and Viktoriia Danchak achieved it in the next rally with a double block — 25:27.
The fight continued in the second period - 5:5. Well, the Czechs really wanted to take revenge on the "red and whites" for the defeat in the previous circle. This desire later resulted in their advantage — 10:6. Thanks to the efforts of Myrta Grbac, our team managed to get back several points: the Slovenian was successful both in attack and defense - 12:10.
Ivan Petkov's team continued to be in the role of those who catch up - 19:17. One of the decisive roles in this game was played by Hanna Kyrychenko's powerful power serve, which ultimately helped "Šelmy" to triumph - 25:22.
Our rivals started the third set with courage - 5:0. After the block-out, Anna Artyshuk, the Ukrainians finally "withdrew". However, they failed to immediately develop this local success - 13:5. The representatives of the Czech Republic, having a comfortable handicap behind them, relaxed somehow. "Prometey" took advantage of this and made a spurt - 13:9. After a series of simple mistakes by the hostesses in the attack, the "red and whites" even took the lead - 20:21. Then the scene of the first set was remembered, only the teams switched places now — 26:24.
At the start of the fourth set, the Czechs had the minimum initiative - 9:8. After Petkov's time-out, his players woke up and won seven rallies in a row. However, there were also "swings" here - 15:15. Fortunately, in the end, everything ended well for our athletes — 20:25. Instead, there was still a decisive step to be taken - to win the tie-break. There, the psychological advantage was already on the side of the Ukrainian team, who was able to transform it into a general victory - 13:15.
So, thanks to today's triumph, our volleyball players strengthened their leadership in the Extraliga, breaking away from "Prostejov" by 5 points.
