SC "Prometey" — "Šelmy Brno" 3-1 (28:26, 25:22, 22:25, 25:17)
In the next round of the Czech championship, SC "Prometey" played against the team from the lower part of the tournament table - "Šelmy Brno". That is why Ukrainians were considered the favorites of the confrontation. Looking forward, we should note that they have confirmed this status.
Although at the beginning of the meeting, it was not easy for our athletes to cope with the attacks of rivals. In addition, the latter acted quite well on the block, due to which they had minimal initiative - 12:14. Ivan Petkov was by no means satisfied with this development of events, so he took a time-out.
The time-out did work, and soon Viktoriia Danchak and Mirta Grbac restored parity with a double block. The score remained even until the end of the set, and the teams had to decide the winner by "more or less". At that moment, Vicki Savar showed her leadership qualities, earned two points in a row, and finished the set in favor of the "red and whites" - 28:26.
In the next segment, the teams continued to go toe to toe — 7:7. The Czechs ventured into a small spurt (0:3), which weighed a lot during such a drawn-out game, in particular, psychologically. And at a certain moment, the advantage of the "Šelmy" players was six points - 13:19.
Apparently, they believed in their success a little too soon, which "Prometey" took full advantage of. Subsequently, Danchak, whom the Bulgarian specialist uses in the opposite position, put an end to this set with a tight shot - 25:22.
During the entire third set, our athletes had difficulties in reception. As a result, the opponents got another good chance to triumph — at 8:15. The Ukrainians were able to compensate for the failed element with an organized block — at 12:15. But, unfortunately, this turned out to be not enough - 22:25.
The previous success inspired the Czech to something more than one won set — 4:6. For their part, Ivan Petkov's players were not going to capitulate either. On the service of Oleksandra Milenko, who knocked out the opponents from the reception, they organized a powerful surge - 14:9. The guests could not recover from it - 25:17.
