About "Alba Blaj"
"Alba Blaj" is a giant of Romanian women's volleyball. Last year, the wards of Serbian coach Stevan Ljubičić became the champions of their country. Unlike the "red and whites", they started their journey in the Champions League 2024 from the first stage of qualification, from where they entered Group E in second place.
Currently, "Alba Blaj" is in the third position in the Romanian championship, having won six victories in eight matches. The best scorers of the team in these competitions with 126 points are the opposite Bogumila Biarda (3rd place in the rating) and with 111 points the outside hitter Isidora Kockarevic (8th place in the rating).

It is interesting that in last year's European Cup campaign, SC "Prometey" and "Alba Blaj" also got into the same group. Then tickets to the 1/8 finals were won by "Vero Volley" and "Volero Le Cannet".
The Romanian club qualified for the CEV Cup from the third step, where they eventually reached the final. However, "Scandicci" conceded in the decisive matches. Our team finished its performance in the Champions League with one victory over "Le Cannet".

In the first two rounds, Ivan Petkov's wards lost to the representatives of "Volero Le Cannet" and "LKS Lodz" with the same score of 0-3. Therefore, for now, they are closing the tournament table of group E.
"Alba Blaj" defeated "Lodz" (3-1) on the road, but "Le Cannet" lost (2-3) at home on a tie-break. With four points, the Romanians are in second place.
